Method
Projects that go wrong nearly always skip the data step. The sequence below applies to most assignments, with durations that vary according to the size of the scope.
Understanding the decision to be made, its timing and who owns it. Half a day on site is often enough to reframe the question — and sometimes to avoid an unnecessary study.
Extracting and cleaning operational data: volumes, SKUs, seasonality, handling times, building constraints. Nothing gets modelled on rough estimates.
Building the workload model and the scenarios. The model stays with you: documented and open, so your teams can change the assumptions once the assignment ends.
A costed decision pack, presented to your teams and then to your management, with the limits of the model stated plainly. Implementation follow-up if you want it.
